Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is the oldest and the most widely used system of medicine in the world today. It is medicine made exclusively from plants. Herbal medicine is validated by rigorous scientific research which has explored the complex chemistry of plants. Many modern pharmaceuticals have been modelled on, or derived from, phytochemicals found in herbs. Increasing research on herbal medicine demonstrates that liquid botanicals play a critical role during, before and after a diagnosis of cancer.
So, what defines the best herbal medicine? Several key factors are only achievable with liquid extracts:
1. Purity and Quality of Raw Herbs
Every raw herb must undergo rigorous testing to ensure it is free from contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides, and other impurities.
2.Full-Spectrum Extraction
The extraction process must capture—and retain—the broad spectrum of active and supportive compounds naturally found in the plant. Some rapid or overly harsh extraction methods fail to draw out all components, while others lose delicate elements like volatile oils, which are essential for therapeutic effect.
Why Not Capsules or Tablets?
While capsules and tablets may seem convenient, their production involves multiple processing steps and varying levels of concentration. Each step reduces the integrity of the original plant and can result in the loss of valuable phytochemicals. Even when products are “standardised” for certain known compounds, much of the plant’s natural synergy and complexity are lost in the process.
It is important to preserve the plant’s whole therapeutic profile—just as nature intended.
